Atlantic 33 Tool Steel--Heat Treating InstructionsAtlantic A-33 No Temper tool steel is a thru hot work steel. When you drift a hole as the punch get hot remove from work and quench in clean clear water return the punch to the work and continue drifting the hole. This steel can be welded with out special consideration during welding or post welding. Forging Hardening A-33 can be case hardened with carburizing and flame hardening. You can use Kasnite to case hardened A-33. Do Not Draw or Temper Odds & Ends When heat treating you can use a lower temperature about a good (red color) of 1500 to 1650 degrees F for more blunt point tools like drift punches or hammer eye drifts.
